When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, ‘I used everything you gave me’

Normal is boring. You know when people tell you that you have to learn the rules in order to break them? Seven years ago I began my journey on learning all the rules—I learned where the zipper is “supposed” to go, how you’re “supposed” to wear a pair of pants, how much of your body is “supposed” to be covered. Six years and 364 days ago, I began a journey in the opposite direction: like the two-headed arrow. I took one step right only to turn left when I saw what was ahead. When things look too plain and simple to me, I question them. Turning right seemed too plain and simple. When things are “supposed” to be a certain way, I want to know why. If you give me an answer and I can challenge it, that reason isn’t good enough. That’s what I want my clothing to do, challenge your perception of what clothing is “supposed” to be. If you can respond to that challenge, you and my clothes will have a great friendship.
